The Treatment

What Is Scar Camouflage?

Scars carry their own weight. Whether from surgery, burns, accidents, or medical procedures, a scar in a visible location changes how a person sees themselves — and sometimes how others see them. Scar Camouflage uses micropigmentation to close that gap.

The technique works by matching pigment precisely to the surrounding skin tone and applying it to the scar tissue in a pattern that blends the scar visually with its environment. It does not erase scars — it makes them blend.

Dame treats scalp scars (from hair transplants, surgeries, and injuries), facial scars, and body scars. Each case is evaluated individually because no two scars — or skin tones — are identical.

Candidacy

Who Is This For?

  • Hair transplant scars (strip/FUT method linear scars)
  • Scalp surgery or injury scars
  • Surgical scars on the face, neck, or body
  • Burn scars with significant color contrast to surrounding skin
  • Accident or injury scars in visible locations
  • Anyone whose scar causes self-consciousness in daily life

Step by Step

The Process

1

Free Consultation

Dame examines the scar — its depth, texture, age, and the surrounding skin tone. Not every scar is a candidate for micropigmentation. If yours is, you leave the consultation with a clear understanding of what's possible and what the treatment plan looks like.

2

Session One — Initial Blending

The first session introduces pigment to the scar tissue. Dame works carefully across the area, building initial tone. Because scar tissue behaves differently than healthy skin, the first session is a measured foundation.

3

Session Two — Refinement

After 10–14 days of healing, the second session assesses how the pigment has settled and builds on what was established. Edges are blended, coverage is increased, and the result begins to emerge.

4

Further Sessions (as needed)

Scar tissue is unpredictable in how it retains pigment. Some scars require additional sessions to achieve full blending. Dame evaluates after each session and sets clear expectations for the total treatment arc.

What to Expect

Results & Longevity

Results vary more with scar camouflage than with scalp or facial micropigmentation — scar tissue retains pigment differently than healthy skin. Newer scars (less than a year old) and very deep scars may require more sessions.

When successful, the treatment significantly reduces the visual contrast between the scar and surrounding skin. In many cases the scar becomes difficult to detect in normal lighting.

Longevity is similar to other micropigmentation services — 4–6 years before any fading warrants a touch-up. Sun exposure is the primary factor in accelerated fading.

Protecting Your Investment

Aftercare Instructions

  • Keep the treated area clean and dry for 5–7 days post-session
  • Avoid direct sun exposure — the treated scar is particularly vulnerable during healing
  • Do not pick, scratch, or rub the area during the healing phase
  • Apply only recommended aftercare products — no harsh chemicals
  • Stay out of swimming pools, saunas, and steam rooms for 4+ weeks
  • Use SPF 30+ on the treated area permanently to preserve pigment longevity
